Jenna Cardi Complete

I have completed the Muse Jenna Cardi. I took some pictures of the completed cardigan as well as some works in progress photos.

This was where I ended Saturday night with all sewing complete and copper looking snaps were affixed to one side. I used my Snaps Setter, with size 24 base to accommodate the larger snaps.

I am pleased with the outcome in spite of the fiddly knit fabric. The next one, now having completed this one, I will use a different knit.

I'm happy with how the snaps lined up. There is always potential for the bottom snap not to line up correctly. I took my time measuring and marking. I will post photos of me wearing later this week. There is a contest on Pattern Review called New To Me Pattern which is what the contest is about.

Now that this is completed I think I have time to make another new to me pattern and will plan to enter that also. My next new to me pattern will be Handmade by London-Victoria Blazer.

It’s a Dress

I will say that the dress is complete except for hemming and stitching down the facings, and adding hook and eye.

I made many fitting adjustments to this dress; I am glad that the dress had so many darts as this aided in the ability to make adjustments in numerous areas.  There are front and back neck darts, side bust dart, front and back bodice waist darts, and front and back skirt waist darts.

I think the pattern runs a little large and then I used some larger sizing than probably I needed to.  Nonetheless, I now have a good fit.  I did not take photos of me wearing the dress, not a day for me to do that.

Additional snap setter information.

This is the snap setter I used. The snaps I used were size 16. I also have the snap adapter for size 20 which are a tad larger snaps. One other thing I would add; the instructions say to tap the adapter tool two or three times to set the snap. You then remove fabric from tool and check to be sure snaps are secure. I found that I needed to tap about 4 or 5 times to get the snaps secure for my comfort. I was really pleased with this tool.

The tricky part is aligning the snaps on each front piece. I truly worked hard to make sure that they lined up.

KS Cardigan with snaps

I recently made this cardigan and a matching tank top. I decided to use pastel yellow snaps on this. I used a Snap Setter Tool that truly worked great. I like the look of the snaps. I see a lot of this look in stores of late. I really could not find pale yellow buttons to use that appealed to me or small enough. Now I can wear this to work in the near future. One UFO complete!
