Dresses

I spent time in sewing room last night after dinner. I realized I have way too many patterns! Yet I just purchased a few more 'cause they were on sale. I perhaps need to set a goal to not buy any more patterns for 2010.

I decided to go through my dress patterns and find a few that would work with double knit fabric. I acquired a navy blue double knit, I think, in the early part of 2009 from Fabric.com . I just recently purchased double knit from Gorgeous Fabrics. I narrowed my pattern selection down to three potential dresses.

The first Vogue pattern may have the wrong side of the fabric showing-having not read the instructions yet. The Butterick dress pattern would based on reviews and comments by other bloggers. The navy fabric will work for either of those.

The double knit fabric from Gorgeous Fabrics have two distinct right and wrong sides so the second Vogue pattern is the best candidate for that fabric. Both pieces have been washed and ready to go. So I need to get ready to go myself.

I want to end this post by saying thank you to those who recently left comments on my previous post about my job. I appreciate your empathy. Sometimes you just have to go through, over or around a brick wall. I am getting there and by Monday hope to be on the other side.

  2. I love all three patterns, but my personal favorite is the second Vogue. And I agree with Tracey - no such thing as too many patterns! :)

  4. I figure, we could be doing a lot worse things than buying on-sale patterns. It's just a small vice. Enjoy it. And make a beautiful dress. Humm, that MAY call for a new pattern? McCall and Vogue are on-sale again at Jos toward the end of the month. Just in case you need another!

  5. I love all of your pattern picks. Personally I think you just have to give in to temptation when there's a pattern sale!

  8. I have made the butterick dress (as a tunic) twice. Would love to see how the vogue dresses come out. I haven't seen the 8413 before. Adding that to my wish list, now.
