I love denim jackets. I have made a couple in past years. However I am obsessed with red denim jackets at the moment. One of my favorite casual looks is this one.
I have seen several red denim fabrics; yet when I am ready to purchase some I can not find a red one that is really red like my Pinterest one on my usual fabric sites. And then I googled red denim fabric and found one that I hope is going to be the right one.
It was on Nancy's Notions site. It is called Fire Red. It looks like the red I love, a warm red not one with blue undertones. Monitors can be deceiving though!
I purchased it yesterday and of course it was on back order and supposedly will be shipped this Friday. I will be waiting patiently for it to arrive.

DeleteAwesome look. Hmm, I have red linen in my stash, black and white fabric too, though not stripes. You might have inspired me on my next project too. The linen might work instead of denim.
ReplyDeleteWell I hope I did inspire. Red linen will be perfect also. I do have black and white stripe fabric, and solid black. Not sure I am on the maxi skirt bandwagon though, I am so short I think it will make me look shorter. Maybe a mid length

Red cowboy boots--I have a pair of those also. Now that might be an interesting look. I am so hoping that denim from NN will be the right red shade. Will post about after it arrives.

DeleteGreat minds must think alike:) I have that same photo pinned, and I bought some red linen to make a jacket, mostly because I don't think my skills are up to making a denim jacket yet. Can't wait to see yours!
ReplyDeleteI think red linen would make a good jacket. It's funny I shy away from linen mainly because of the wrinkles. I have sewn some denim so I do have some comfort level with it.
DeleteRed is my favourite colour too! I find that sometimes when I can't find the fabric in the exact colour I want, I just buy the white or cream one and dye it myself in the washing machine. I have done that a couple of times with 100% cotton fabric with success. I haven't yet done that with cotton blends or other types of materials though.
