I have this off and on like of rayon batiks. Not so crazy over the cotton ones simply because I see them more quilts or purses. Since I sew mostly garments, the rayons appeal to me. Having said that, I fell in love with some of the rayons I saw while there. Partly the appeal may have been they were on sale as well.
I have a vision of a blouse-camp shirt or similar style with contrasting collar or sleeve or an added sleeve band. Here are some photos of my newly acquired fabric:

I particularly like the red background fabric in the second picture. Is this store anywhere near Charlottesville?
ReplyDeleteWow! Lucky you to be able to fondle rayon batiks. I, too, like the batiks, but most of the cottons are too stiff or something. Nice choices, I'll be watching to see what you make from them.
ReplyDeleteGreat find. I love rayon batik. It's so soft! I'll stay tuned for your creations!
ReplyDeleteNice fabric.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to hear about the fabric store in Wytheville. I'm in Blacksburg but moving to Abingdon soon. I'll have to check it out on the way! Already love Schoolhouse Fabrics in Floyd and purchased some SWAP fabrics there.
