McCall's and Sinclair Patterns.

I have actually completed two tops! They are both in the orange range of colors.  The McCall 7975 is complete but the finished product is not at all what I expected. I took some photo shots of me wearing the top. The top does not resemble the work in progress post earlier. I think the fabric I used was not the best choice for the top. I made some tweaks to the pattern after taking the photos and plan to retake photos with the tweaks made.

I have discovered reviews on Pattern Review about another indie pattern company, Sinclair Patterns.
Their patterns are drafted for petite, regular and tall. I purchased the Cachet top pattern and used the petite size. The only adjustments I made were for a forward shoulder and swayback. I cut a size 16 and it fit perfectly. I might have gone down to 14 from waist to bottom but decided I like the fullness.  Since the OVID-19 and stay at home,  I have unfortunately gained some weight!

I was so delighted that the petite pattern fit so well. I like this so much that I will plan to make another one soon. My husband gave me high compliments while wearing this top today.

Here are some photos of the new top. The fabric is from my stash; it is from EmmaOneSock and I purchased this 2015. I used part of it in a top made several years ago. I had enough to make this top with scraps leftover.

I have purchased some additional  Petite PDF patterns from Sinclair Patterns. I even purchased a pant pattern to try; ya'll know that I have FOSP (fear of sewing pants). I don't have a good success rate with pants.

I am going to do some batch cutting over the next few days, including cutting out another Cachet pattern.

More later!

  2. Nice! I really like your fabric. I'm excited for you to try pants sewing. It's really a lot of fun and not as hard as you would think. I recommend "Pants for Real People." This book has helped me a lot.
