A small sewing moment

Let me say that the economy is impacting my job and this week most all of my time has been spent on budget revisions and potential department restructuring. I have spent most of my past three days in meetings from 8 to noon, a small break for lunch which has consisted of pretzels, water or coke. Not a very healthy diet.

DH and I had a nice dinner last night and then when we got home. I took a small sewing break to work on my jacket. I basted the side seams and then tried it on. I still have the bottom front swinging out at the bottom. Not sure if this is because of the FBA I made which was necessary but created more bias at the upper side front. Not sure how that would impact the bottom. It is not a huge swinging out but I notice it. Others may not. I also may need to trim some of the shoulder length. It was nice just to spend time thinking about fitting and not about budgets!

  1. Hmm, I haven't begun sewing in my fashion fabric yet, so I can't say for sure if I too have this swinging out. My muslin didn't, but then again I also cut my pattern a size smaller than I usually do. So that might have helped to eliminate the swing-out problem. Will keep you posted.

  2. Good luck with the jacket!

And I'm kind of laughing... I swear I read this blog, but I just nominated you for the same award you had in the last post! I guess I overlooked that particular post when flipping through my most frequently-read blogs to see who's been inspiring me lately that didn't have it yet. So don't feel like you need to come up with 7 more people or anything, but wanted to let you know.
