Sewing Once Again

As of 5:30 PM, I was officially on vacation!!!!!! And to start the time off right I spent over one hour in my sewing room following dinner and sending that one last email to my staff.

I am pleased with the way the Vogue dress is coming along. I just sewed the sleeves and tacked the facings down. I then basted the side seams for another fitting. It is getting there. It is feeling a little snug through the shoulder area but not so much that it is annoying and it actually keeps the neckline snug in the upper chest area. It is still a little too full from waist to hemline. I decided that I will take a deeper back seam from waist down to hemline and then perhaps take a little deeper side seams.

In the newest Vogue pattern magazine that I got in the mail earlier this week, they have a solid knit made up in this pattern. The dress is a little more fitted on the model than how it is shown on the pattern envelope. It looks a little better on the model in the magazine when it is fitted, IMHO. So I am going for that look as well.

The knit fabric I am using is great to sew with. I should be able to finish this tomorrow. I will probably have to cut off some of the length. I think with even a 2 inch hem it may be too long for me.
