My package from Fabric Mart arrived two days ago. I got that Poly Butterscotch linen-look fabric and the hand is nice. It is a nubby, drapey weave, not firm, but will be quite nice for wider straight legged trousers or a skirt, or an unstructered dress. I am planning on a wide hemed straight legged pants and a 4 gore slightly flared A- line skirt. I'll change the grain line to run from center bottom to center top, rather than straight along the center front & center back for a better drape. I also got the Safari and Southwestern panels. I think the Southwestern panel print will be a shirt to wear with the pants and skirt. The Safari panel print was supposed to be pillows for the rec-room. But I think a skirt is in order. I ordered 4 panels so I may have enough for 1 pillow when I am finished.
ReplyDeleteFabric buying is fun - if only it would make itself up!!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely stuck with a theme - all golden! :) I am sure that these pieces will make beautiful garments!
ReplyDeleteI just bought a bunch from Fabric Mart too. I really like how the label everything and they ship pretty fast. And the prices? Well you know how good they are. Glad to know I'm not alone with the fabric shopping lately...
