Deja Vu and this and that

September is one of the months that I have a love/hate relationship.  As a kid, I was always excited to go back to school and see more of my friends; plus I really liked school.  Now it is September Sewing Month and yes I did, I purchased two new patterns as well as some fabric from EOS.

The hate relationship as it marks the end of summer which is one of my favorite seasons. And now deja vu all over again with hurricane season.  Last year we got hit by Florence doing a lot of damage along the NC Coastline and we are a little more inland so not much damage.  Now we have Dorian which has meandered all over the place.  Last night it was back to Cat 3 and was hitting SC this AM.  I think (for now) it is downgraded to Cat 2 and still hugging the coastlines for SC and NC.

With the knowledge we gained last year we are much more prepared in case Dorian decides to come more inland.  Who knows??? We have a new NOAA radio that gives off warnings and from 7:30 AM to about 10:30 we were getting tornado warnings.  So far they have missed us.

I was working on the Mimi G crop top from Simplicity and then I stopped as I need to work on a couple of garments for my 50 Year High School reunion!  With my snail pace sewing of late, I knew I needed to move onto new sewing plans.

One pattern I am going to sew is

I plan to make the white version in a striped fabric. The fabric is from my stash and purchased from Fabric Mart several years ago.

The other pattern I am planning to make is

I plan to sew the view B, the one the model is wearing on the right.  I have black hybrid fabric from EOS as well as mesh faux leather in black from EOS also.

I have also had computer issues of late and finally purchased a laptop during labor day sales.  So just about everything as been transferred to this new computer.  With that time-consuming project complete I will be pattern fitting and cutting out fabric, all while I have electricity and praying Dorian breaks up and moves out into the Atlantic.

More later.
