Can you spot the error?

I am sure that many of you have seen and/or played a game where you look at one picture and then you look at the same picture and find the differences.  I am going to show you a picture of the pattern envelope and the front of my dress.  Tell me by leaving a comment if you spot the difference.

I did not catch this until I had stitched the bottom of the dress to the dress bodice.  Fortunately I can fix this.  Whew!

Thanks for playing along!  I will share with you my fix later.

  1. Ah, the side panel fabric does not line up at the waist. Took awhile to notice though. Merry Christmas!

    1. That's it! When I made the FBA it added some width. I needed the width so the waist dart could not be taken deeper to accommodate this. I did not think about this when cutting out the peplum piece.

  2. So glad you can fix this, the peplum will look much nicer alined with the bodice princess seam. Looks like a lovely dress in the making :)

    1. I agree that aligning it with princess seam will be a much better look. Lucky I have enough of the fabric left to cut out another piece.

  3. Ummm, the point of the peplum is missing? Am I the only one who saw that pattern and thought the peplum should be sewn flat and not flap around? Finally did you know that this is a take on a designer dress!

    1. Actually the point is there, perhaps not a sharp one though. The peplum is not lining up with the princess seam. I did not think about widening the peplum. Lucky I have enough fabric left to fix this. And no I did not know this was a take on a designer dress. What designer? Enquiry minds want to know.

  4. I can see the mistake - only because you pointed out that there was one! Reading the comments I can see what happened. Good luck with the fix :)

  5. Yep, I see that the peplum is not lining up with the princess seam. Is it an error with the drafting?

    1. No, Sue, the error is operator one-mine-. When making the FBA I did not adjust the peplum piece. Fortunately I did have enough fabric left to make another one after adjusting the pattern piece.
