Fabric Envy again

I read a lot of blogs. I always am inspired after doing so. I also (sometimes, lots of time) decide that I want a pattern like someone else is making or (sometimes, lots of time) want the same fabric. Example-chocolate eyelet fabric from Metro Textiles. Both Carolyn and Mardel purchased this fabric and posted about it. I was so envious that I decided to call Kashi and ordered what he had left. The result this skirt.

Well reading through blogs where the blogger has written about fall patterns, I am now prowling the pattern websites and I am almost ready for fall-NOT! Ready to think about and start sewing for fall. I like fall but winter comes next and I DO NOT LIKE WINTER!

Of course doing all this reading, I found I again wanted the fabric that Carolyn purchased and wrote about here. (You can click on the title above also to see this post and this fabric.) So, I immediately purchased three yards of it and it arrived Tuesday. I agree with Carolyn it looks better in "real" life than on the monitor. It is a little more stretchy than I thought it would be but I have ideas percolating!

So thanks Carolyn for the inspiration or for enabling me!!! I think you won the award for Fabric Enabler, right?

  1. How did I forget that skirt? Or did I miss it all together? Anyway, beautiful.

And Carolyn's fabric tempted me too but I managed to steer clear. That doesn't mean that I did not succumb to other temptations!

I can't wait to see what you make.

  2. Yes, Carolyn is the fabric enabler - I think she's who got me started on Fabric Mart!

I can't wait to see how you use your new fabric.

  4. I am with you on having envy of other blogs having beautiful fabric and patterns. I have come upon so many sewing blogs that I had no clue were out there. Yours is one of them. It has kept me sewing seeing other peoples creations. I don't normally sew for myself but I have recently started to and I love it.

  5. Yeap - proud owner of the Virtual Fabric Enabler Award! That piece is amazing isn't it Linda! I was blown away by it when I opened the box - such a fantastic piece for such a great price. And I know exactly what I want to do with it, I am just not ready yet to start thinking about fall sewing! :)
