Continuing to Fall off the Wagon

As I noted recently I fell off the fabric moratorium wagon when I purchased some knits from two different sources. Well I continue to fall!

I read Carolyn's (Diary of a Sewing Fanatic) and Mardel's (Sew Distracted) blogs over the weekend and was green with envy at their fabric purchases from Metro Textiles. I wish I had been into this blogging thing earlier and of course Carolyn and Mardel would have needed to have been into at the same time, cause I lived in the Lehigh Valley area of PA and would and could have found a way to go shopping with them in NYC. I only went once while living there for 2.5 years. What was wrong with me???

Anywho, I digress. After seeing their fabric purchases and loving Carolyn's chocolate brown eyelet fabric as well as Mardel's yellow/olive green/red background with green embroidery fabric and with both of them being so kind to post their metro pass. What's an envious girl to do but write down the phone number and email for Metro Textiles.

I was in luck after emailing Kashi on Monday afternoon and also attaching images of their fabric pieces that I coveted, I was able to buy the last yardage of both pieces. I wanted 3 yards of each, but only got 2.5 and 2.75 yards but said I will make it work.

Having worked with individuals with substance abuse issues who use many means to get the drug or drink, can you tell I have a fabric abuse issue. Look at the extremes I went to, to get this fabric. I really don't feel guilt though, just giddy!!! But then these two ladies did enable me, right? putting that card on their blogs! Thank you both!

If that was not enough, Ann(Gorgeous Things) has now begun selling "gorgeous" fabric of which I purchased a brown/green "Monet" knit and got that last week. Then she sends out an email announcing more fabric. Of course, I could have not gone to her site again. But I did, I then order the black/white optic knit. It was shipped on Monday so I bet I will have it tomorrow!

  1. I LOVE your new fabric purchases! I was mulling over the idea of the fiber optic pattern myself..... I can't wait to see what you do with them all!

  2. Hmmm...a fabric problem, eh? I'm no stranger to it, but I figure it's a pretty benign thing to be addicted to. I mean no one is getting injured or hurt (are they? - hee hee). Very benign, considering all the other things we could be addicted to.

    :o)

  3. Since I was just awarded the Fabric Enabler of the Year Award over on Stitchers Guild, I feel that I have done just as the tenets of my award encourage me to do!

Now Linda ~ if Kashi includes a card in your order, you must flash your Metro Pass *smile* And I hope you enjoy the fabrics as much as I am!
